Ab-initio
& Modular training for Airplane & Helicopter
Training
There are two ways to pursue your goal of becoming
a professional pilot. One way is through modular
training, the other is by joining an Ab-initio
program. Beta Aviation offers F.A.A/J.A.A/D.G.C.A
approved aviation training from ab initio through
to type rating including base and line training
& finally helping with Job Placement worldwide
in the best Airlines.
Modular Training
This is the most common way to
train. You start of by obtaining your private
pilot license (PPL), move on to an instrument
rating (IR) for then to do a commercial pilot
license (CPL). It is called modular training as
you build up your competence and experience by
doing different training modules independent of
each other. Some of them require you have a lower
module (license) before starting training. For
Example you need your PPL before you do your CPL,
but the IR you can take either after your PPL
or CPL. Before training to instructor (CFI/FI)
you need your CPL and so on.
Ab-Initio Training
This way of training is more common with large
flight schools in Europe training to the J.A.A
certificate. It is built up as one long course
where you get your CPL, IR and multi engine rating
all at ones upon completing the course. The Ab-initio
courses are intended for full time students only
and you don’t get certificates as you progress
the same way you would in modular training.
The Ab-initio course is preferred
by many airlines in Europe as the students have
to follow a pre-set progression through the course.
If you fall too far behind you drop out and get
pushed back classes. This may be noted by some
airlines thus limiting your chance of getting
a job with them. On the other hand, completing
a Ab-initio course may enhance your chances of
getting a job.
